Yesterday I was planning on heading on to Ardglass after 3 days stopped in Bangor but once again that plan was scuppered by the weather! I am hoping to set off tomorrow now.
However I have had an absolutely brilliant time at Bangor Marina who have completely spoilt me rotten! I have been taken out to lunch not once but twice by Kevin and Tommy from the Marina, treated to a tour round RNLI Bangor and on Thursday I even had a visit from the Mayor! But it doesn’t stop here, I have met countless individuals who have gone above and beyond to make me feel welcome here. This started with being invited by Ian from Suphubni who took me out paddle boarding on Tuesday morning. I was then met by Pete who kindly came after work to help me do some work up the mast. Pete has been so helpful over the past few days, not only did he help me up the mast, he took me out for dinner and helped organise a brilliant tour round the Royal Ulster Yacht Club (A huge thank you to the guys there for taking the time to do that!). Not to mention his wife Emma making a casserole for me as well as a chocolate cake!
During my stay here I also met Gary and Tanya who are living on their awesome boat Sandpiper.
They have been incredibly generous from offering advice on the coming legs of my trip to inviting me onboard for dinner.
The list of people like this goes on and I can’t thank you all enough!
