As you can see below, I had a very special visit from Ellen MacArthur today. Ellen has been my idol not just for sailing but for how I want to lead my life, ever since I read her books at the age of 12, about her amazing adventures. So, when Ellen came into Shepards Marina with her dog ‘Norman’ today I was completely taken aback!
I had the pleasure of being able to spend some time with her and we had a very enlightening yet incredibly informative conversation about my trip and the future… A quote that always rings true to me is “the world is your oyster”, yet knowing how to crack open that oyster is quite a challenge. My conversation with Ellen helped me begin to figure out how to do it and It’s certainly an hour of my life that I will never forget.
